Grab your helmets and get ready to pedal for Denver's Bike to Work Day - Wednesday, June 26th!
There are countless benefits of riding your bike, especially to work. Health, fitness, sustainability and happiness are a few that come to mind. National Bike to Work Day was created to promote biking as more popular mode of transportation and to change the view of biking to work from a novelty to a ritual.
While most cities celebrated bike to work day in May. Colorado adopted their own special day - the third Wednesday in June! This was done in order to allow mountain towns that are still covered in snow to participate.
Denver doesn't take bike to work day lightly. The city goes all out - as they have deligently worked to improve the cities bikeability and want to show everyone how convenient it can be. To entice you further there’s breakfast stations set up throughout the city, parties, water stands, and giveaways! Breweries even joined the fun and have been known to give out free pint certificates.
The whole city will be celebrating so get your tune ups and get ready to hit the bike lanes.
