’Tis the season to sleigh — your holiday cocktail game, that is! If you’re in the Denver area and looking to get jolly, here are five standout Christmas pop-up bars you absolutely must check out this winter. Strap on your festive socks, slap on some glitter, and prepare to be transported into a world of twinkling lights, punny cocktail names, and enough holly to make Buddy the Elf blush.
This is the granddaddy of Denver holiday pop-ups. Inside Denver Union Station, Miracle flips the switch on nostalgia with over-the-top décor, cocktails served in Santa mugs (yes, really), and a full immersion into “I’m on the nice list” vibes. It runs from Nov 26 through Dec 24 (2025) and is 21+ only. Reservations are highly recommended.
Pro tip: Arrive early for the best photo moments by the massive lights and arching ceilings. And yes — dress like you mean it (ugly sweater optional, but strongly endorsed).
Who says Christmas can’t come with a tropical twist? Avantiki (hosted at Avanti Food & Beverage in LoHi) delivers a beachy holiday pop-up — picture Santa in a Hawaiian shirt, hula dancers, spiked egg nogs, and maybe a palm tree wearing tinsel. Reservations recommended.
Pro tip: Get in before the crowd, maybe pair your drink with some of the food downstairs (they allow food on the lower level but not upstairs in the pop-up), then head upstairs to soak in the island-x-Christmas mashup.
Located in the chic neighborhood of Cherry Creek North, this newer pop-up is perfect for after-shopping holiday wind-down. It runs Nov 20 – Dec 24, 2025, next door to the holiday market. Think cozy seating, festive drinks, and prime people-watching.
Pro tip: After browsing artisan gifts at the Holiday Market, stroll over to Mistletoe Lounge for a little respite and cocktail recharge.
For a more laid-back, local spot, Poka Lola (in LoDo) brings the festive cheer without the mega production of Union Station. Their pop-up, dubbed “Poka La La La,” features tongue-in-cheek holiday cocktails like “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Bunny Slope.” No reservations needed (but arriving early is wise).
Pro tip: Grab a table early, take advantage of the cocktail creativity, and maybe pair with a lateral move to a nearby food spot if you get hungry.
For those who want to play on the “naughty” side of Christmas, The Krampus Room (at The Electric Cure) brings the dark twist: yule-time debauchery, themed cocktails, and a vibe that’s part “holiday party” part “what just happened?” Runs Nov 26 – Dec 31.
Pro tip: If you’ve got friends who think “classic Christmas” is passé, this is your go-to. Arrive later in the evening to catch full party energy.
Book early! These pop-ups fill up fast.
Check dress codes: Ugly sweaters? Festive flair? Decide ahead.
Ride-share is your friend — designated driver or buddied up.
Bring a camera (or phone): these places are made for marketing-quality pics.
Mix in non-bar stops (lights, markets, etc) for an all-around festive outing — for example, pairing Mistletoe Lounge with the nearby Holiday Market.
