Inspiring Others to 'Create'

Innovative Chef’s Ras and Diego are redefining what it means to bring people together through cooking and learning. Before stepping foot into Create Cooking School we could feel their warm welcome. Our event Coordinator Michelle Nguyen, was very prompt and helpful. We had a vision for a Top Chef Style Cooking class for our past clients and friends and they were excited about the idea. Their ideas were boiling straight away and they sent us menu options to choose from and worked with us on non dairy options. Blown away by their selections we asked them what inspires their menus and they said “we put our heads together and try to introduce new types of food and ingredients to our guests while making it approachable.”

After having such an engaging experience we are eager to share their story with you all.

It begins with two long time friends and food industry lifers, who had grown up in food centered families. Both atteneded Culinary School at Johnson and Wales University. After graduating they were craving to satisfy their appetites to bring family and friends together around the table again so they embarked on their mission to build Create Cooking School together.

Located at 2501 Dallas Street in the once Stapleton Airport now converted Stanley Market. A fairly new, family friendly, community center - packed with independently owned Colorado businesses - offering a wide variety of services ranging from eating, drinking, shopping, exercising and more.The location works perfectly, exuding the family feel the owners Ras and Diego were going for. They say that when searching for a location they selected Stapleton because “we fell in love with the community and wanted to share our love and passion for bringing people together through food, beverage, and hospitality.”

Starting from scratch they were one of the first vendors to open in Stanley Market. They envisioned an intimate and inspiring space that would encourage the inner chef in everyone to blossom. As a team they mapped out their plan and proceeded to bring it to life. Producing what Create is today.

Their motto is to learn by doing, which is exactly what happens when you take one of their cooking classes. You’ll learn the techniques you need to create the perfect meal. From knife/cutting skills to pairing the right ingredients you’ll leave with a bit more culinary knowledge then you came with. Once tucked away, cooking in the back of a kitchen, Chef Ras and DIego now have “the pleasure of seeing our guests' immediate enjoyment of having completed a dish they wouldn't normally cook.” And let me tell you they belong in front of an audience. They know exactly how to engage people and make a truly enjoyable experience come to life. Their entire team really played into the Top Chef theme of our event from start to finish allowing our party to really have fun and get competitive with it. It was like watching a live episode of the show! From the introduction of the rules to judging each dish, you can tell their hearts are in their work.
